Frequently Asked Questions

What type of jobs do you list on the site?

We post only Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property positions. This includes qualified and part qualified Solicitors, Legal Executives and Licensed Conveyancers. From time to time, positions for processing staff and junior legal clerks may be posted.

Why should we post a job on ConveyancingJobs.com?

Because we are the first and only place many candidates look for a job in residential conveyancing or commercial property. We believe that a candidate looking for a new job starts with a search in the popular search engines. Most likely Google. That’s why we ensure that our content is ranked number 1 by Google - just try searching for ‘Conveyancing Jobs’. We are all about placing the best jobs in front of the UK’s best candidates. If you are looking to appeal to the masses, then other sites will be more suitable. Our target audience are the qualified professionals you want to hire. Unlike the major legal job sites, we are happy to share our site stats with you.

How much does a posting cost?

£99 for 45 days. For law firms and direct employers, success is guaranteed. That means if your position has not been filled after 45 days, your posting can remain on the site until you find a candidate. Not only is a posting with ConveyancingJobs.com great value but your vacancy is seen by candidates who are actually looking for a job in conveyancing and not any other area of the law.

What’s with the RSS feeds?

RSS is a great way to share our content with a wide audience. If you are new to RSS, check out this great overview. Many new web browsers support RSS feeds and lots of tech-savvy users prefer RSS to browsing web pages.

Who are you?

We are a small group of web architects and technology evangelists with an interest in the legal recruitment sector. We also work on consulting projects throughout the UK and North America and we also run other job sites.

Can our firm sponsor a banner/ad/page on your site?

Yes. But we are not big on sponsored results; we want our users to be able to find the jobs they are looking for rather than jobs from employers with the biggest banner ad. We have also designed the site to be accessible and usable on a range of mobile devices so any content must be standards compliant and fast loading. If you are okay with this, we would be happy to work with you.

Can I view the site on my cellphone, Blackberry or PDA?

Yep. The site is designed using web standards, namely XHTML and CSS so should be perfectly usable in most standards compliant web browsers. We have tested extensively on Blackberry (8800, 8290, Curve and Pearl), Windows CE/Windows Mobile, Nokia N-Series and Apple iPhone and Touch. The site looks works great in all of them. The site looks best in a standards compliant browser like Firefox, Safari, IE7 or Opera. We try to support older versions of Internet Explore but if you are still using one of them, do yourself a favour and upgrade.

What about personal information?

If you don’t want anyone to find out you are looking around for a new job, we completely understand. Unlike some job sites, we don’t want your resume. It’s not that we are not interested, we just think you’ll be able to handle forwarding your own cover letter and resume without our help. We can’t share what we don’t have!

Can we post jobs automatically using one of the mass posting tools?

Every posting to ConveyancingJobs.com is individually moderated and approved. The only way to post a job on the site is one at a time. If you have a bunch of different jobs to post, don’t worry - tell us where to find them or send us a file and we will do the rest. In our experience, bulk uploading leads to reduced posting quality and by now you know that’s not our thing.

We are a recruitment agency - can we advertise with ConveyancingJobs.com?

Yes - as long as you are posting jobs that meet our quality criteria described above. And before you ask, we don’t provide free trials.

I can’t think of any more questions. Can you?

Nope!
